A TRIBUTE TO NATURE
A subtle blend of cachaças, made from the juice of fresh sugar cane, hand-harvested and aged in various endemic wooden barrels, without artificial additives, has given TIJUCA spirits an identity close to nature to offer you an innovative experience.
WELCOME TO RIO DAS FLORES :
A municipality committed to the environment!
Despite its modest resources, the municipality of Rio das Flores pursues a determined and ambitious environmental policy to restore and protect its ecosystems. Waste management, water quality and reforestation are among its priorities.
As one of our producers has set up a distillery in Rio das Flores and has a long-standing commitment to forest preservation, TIJUCA has decided to contribute to this municipality's efforts by offering part of its sales proceeds to finance its reforestation program.
TIJUCA is grateful to the land that provides the sugar cane and ageing woods that give birth to its spirits.

The Atlantic Forest (in Portuguese: Mata Atlântica) is a tropical rainforest biome located along the coast of Brazil. It is a biodiversity hotspot.
Covers 15 % of Brazilian territory,
Home to 72% of Brazil's population

Its highest peak reaches 2,700 m
MATA ATLÂNTICA IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S
MOST THREATENED TROPICAL FORESTS

Deforested since the arrival of the first settlers around 1500
Only 7% of the original forest remains
20 000 threatened plant species 8000 of which are found only in this area

Numerous NGOs and public and private organizations are working to protect and restore this environment. These include the SOS Mata Atlântica foundation and the municipality of Rio das Flores, located in the heart of the Mata Atlântica, with which TIJUCA has signed an agreement to help with reforestation.
OUR ACTION
On December 16, 2020, TIJUCA signed an agreement with the municipality of Rio das Flores, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to help finance the reforestation of the Mata Atlântica, a Brazilian coastal forest. The SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation is the guarantor of the agreement.
This agreement funds the planting of a tree for every bottle sold and aims to :
Research forest cover
Support ecological processes in degraded areas
Care for young trees
Restoring the biodiversity of the Mata Atlântica
To promote sustainable land use
Combating climate change.
Trees are a vital link in life on Earth. They participate in the water cycle, produce oxygen, absorb CO2, promote biodiversity, provide habitat for wildlife, fight erosion and much more!
